INCREDIBLE HOLIDAY WARMTH! DECEMBER TURNING OUT TO BE A DUD!! As a winter weather fan Im really hoping the rest of the winter season doesnt follow Decembers lead. I started talking about how warm this month would be right after Thanksgiving and sure enough this month has turned out to be a huge disappointment for the snow lovers. Those cold December forecasts that I kept reading about a couple of months ago are all going to be huge busts! The first two images below show the temperature departures for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Some areas could be as much as 15-20 degrees above normal! The third image below shows the blow torch for everyone east of the Mississippi River from today through the 27th and the fourth image below shows how the country has faired so far this month. The entire nation (except Florida) is running anywhere from 1 to 5 degrees above normal with some areas over the Rockies closer to 6 and 7 above. The funny thing about all of this is the CFSv2 climate model back in November had a mild December for the entire country and everyone dismissed it. Now it looks like its going to actually be right. I just hope its wrong about January because it originally had a milder than normal January as well. :(
