INSERT 58 Cast: Buhle Melody Minky Zoleka Mpho Banda Xola Liyabona Scones Vuyo Lethu Thabo Xolani Dungs Tony INSERT 58 Thursday Afternoon Melody goes to Minkys house in Crossroads, shes driving the BMW M3. She arrives there and hoots. Minky comes out. . . Gets into the car and they drive off to Buhles house. On their way. . . Minky: Hows Buhle tshomi? Melody: He pulled through but hes gonna have to use crutch sticks to walk up until he can find his balance, but you know how stubborn he is, hell only use one crutch stick Minky: If he uses crutch sticks will he ever be able to walk normally again? Melody: Yes, nothing happened to his legs, its just that he lost blood so the doctor says he might have moments of dizziness at times up until he recovers Minky: How long will that take? Melody: Maybe a week to a month, I seriously dont know Minky: Whats he gonna do when he comes out? Melody: Obviously continue with his gang. I just wish I can convince him to change, and.... Minky: And? Melody: [keeps quiet and parks in the yellow line Minky: Tshomi whats wrong? Melody: Im a bit dizzy and I feel like Im gonna vomit tshomi Minky: Can I drop the top of the car or open the windows just for some real air? Melody: No, theres no need Melody opens the door, gets out of the car and goes to the lawn next to the road, she vomits on the grass. Minky gets out of the car and rubs Melodys back Minky: Tshomi did you something youre not supposed to eat? Melody vomits again, then when shes done. She goes into the car, grabs a tissue and wipes her face. Melody: Tshomi get in, I need some water. Lets go to BP Garage(Pick n Pay Express), I can grab a bottle of water there They both get into the car. . . Minky: Tshomi whats wrong? What did you eat? Melody: I didnt eat anything, as a matter of face I didnt eat anything today Minky: Maybe thats why Melody: Tshomi I think Im pregnant Minky: Tshomi, Im not following Melody: I havent gotten my period and its supposed to be my time of the month last week Minky: Hay tshomi, lets buy a pregnancy test as well Melody: Eish Im scared, because if it turns out that Boogles made me pregnany, hell rob even more and his crew is involved in a gang shootout with another gang while the cops have been looking for him and Xola on the day he got shot Minky: But if you tell him that youre expecting, he might quit the game and be a good father Melody: If he quits the game his enemies will still find him either way and kill him, and if he gets caught by the cops, hes going to jail Minky: But I thought you said the docket disappeared Melody: Yes it did, but Buhle did a lot of things tshomi. I wont be able to raise a child alone, I wont even have time to be in the childs life because Ill be busy hustling on the side, and for Buhle, its either jail or death Minky: Yho tshomi. Just park here, Im gonna buy the pregnancy test and the water myself Melody: Okay thank you tshomi Minky gets out of the car, and goes in to Pick n Pay Express at BP while Melody puts her head on the steering wheel. About a mere 5 minutes later, she comes back and gets into the car. Minky: Heres the pregnancy test and heres your water. Melody: [drinks up the water] Minky: Where are you gonna do the test? Melody: At Buhles house. Youll be next to me Minky: Sure tshomi ................................................ (Meanwhile) At the holding cells, Thabo asks the cop to put him back into Xilas cell. Surprisingly enough, the cop doesnt ask any questions, he just takes him straight to the cell where Xila is in. A fist fight, kick fight, slapping, spitting on each other takes place in the cell. Thabo grabs Xilas throat and chokes him Thabo: Uzofa sfebe Xila: [struggling to breathe] The cops do nothing, they just look on. The people who are in the cell dont wanna interfere because they can see that both T-bose and Xila are hardcore criminals. The others are just arrested for light offences like public drinking, fighting with a neighbour, robbing people off their phones and so son. So they look on Thabo removes his hand from Xilas throat and Xila collapses and passes out for 5 minutes. He wakes up 5 minutes later, realises that T-bose is still in the cell, they fight again. This time around, the cops take Xila out of the cell and into another one where he wont be with Thabo Thabo is still angry, so he punches one of the other cellmates and the 3 others do nothing to him. ............................................... (Meanwhile, Xila passed out in his car next to the Guga Sthebe Centre in Langa, a few streets away from his fathers house He realises he needs backup urgently, and with Buhle in hospital, his life seems to be going slow. He has the R10 000 which Buhle told him to keep, so he decides to call his late brothers girlfriend to ask for a favour Brothers Girlfriend: Hello? Xola: Ziyanda I need a favour, its me X-man Brothers Girlfriend: I know its you, I have your number, whats up? Xola: One of my friends has been arrested, I need to get him out before he can even go to court Brothers Girlfriend: So how are you gonna get him out? Xola: Im gonna bribe a cop to make his docket disappear but I dont know which police station is in charge of the case Brothers Girlfriend: So what do you want me to do for you? Xola: I cant show my face at the police station because those laaities will arrest me, so I want you to try finding a cop and twist his arm. When he agrees, tell me and then Ill give you the amount he wants only when the jobs done. Brothers Girlfriend: But I left that life when Makitle died X-man Xola: I know mfethu, just this once. Please. If T-bose doesnt come out the judge will make him confess to everything and me and my friends are gonna go to jail for a long time. I cant afford to go back there Brothers Girlfriend: But how much am I gonna get for this? Xola: Ill see what I can do but you need to this favour for me Brothers Girlfriend: Okay I will, but you must come to Gugulethu ke so that we can discuss this kakuhle Xola: When? Brothers Girlfriend: Whenever youre free, just come on over Xola: How about now? Brothers Girlfriend: Okay you can come. Just call me when youre at NY6 Xola: Sure [hangs up] Xola makes his way to Gugulethu in his black Audi A3. ................................................ (Back to Melo and Minky) Melody has taken the test. She shows Minky the results and sighs... Minky: I dont know anything about these things, what does it say Melody: Its 2 lines tshomi Minky: So? Melody: Im pregnant Minky: Congrats tshomi [hugs Melo] Melody: This couldnt have come at a worser time Minky: You should be happy tshomi. Soon theres gonna be a little Buhle running around Melody: But how do I tell him this? I mean, hes in hospital and I cant afford to make him too excited and I dont want him feeling the need to come out before the date of his discharge Minky: But if he is the father, dont you think he deserves to know immediately because hes gonna be mad at you and you cant afford that Melody: I know, but as I said, I rest easy when I know hes in hospital, hell want to be discharged today if he finds out and its a danger zone out here. Its risky for him to be out here Minky: Its really weird how Buhle getting shot just changed everything around for everybody. Im happy for you tshomi Melody: What must I do now? Minky: With what? Melody: The pregnancy! Minky: Tell Boogles youre pregnant, and hear from him what he wants to do next. Melody: Okay I will, Ill tell him tonight. Minky: Please do sweetheart Melody and Minky sit inside Buhles shack for hours ................................................ (Meanwhile) Xola arrives in Gugulethu, he parks close to Eskhaleni but not exactly in front of the place then he calls Ziyanda. She comes to him and then gets into the car. They start talking. . . Xola: The thing is, what I told you this morning is what I came here for Brothers Girlfriend: But why is T-bose arrested? Xola: Hijacking and murder Brothers Girlfriend: Then how are you associated with him and the rest of the gang? Xola: We needed backup, so I went to them Brothers Girlfriend: You and who? Scones? Xola: No, Me and Buhle. Scones died mfethu Brothers Girlfriend: Haibo *shocked* . What happened? Whos Buhle? Xola: He got shot in town. He was with Liyabona, they both died. Buhle is a friend of mine Brothers Girlfriend: I see. Who shot them? Xola: Mfethu thats not why I came here Brothers Girlfriend: Yhoo shame uScones noLiya. Anyway when are we doing this? Isnt it too risky for me? Xola: No, youll just find a cop, offer a bribe and then Ill give you money to bribe him Brothers Girlfriend: What will I get in return? Xola: Ill see when we get there, for now, getting T-bose out is a priority Brothers Girlfriend: Just find out which station is handling the case Xola: Obviously Rondebosch but hes kept at the Nyanga police station so youll need to get a detective Brothers Girlfriend: Okay, Ill do it later tonight Xola: Wont you need transportation to get there? Brothers Girlfriend: Youll take me there Xola: No problem, but I wont park closer to the police station Brothers Girlfriend: No problem. As long as youre gonna be there Xola: Ill pick you up at 10 at night Brothers Girlfriend: Ill be waiting Xola: Sharp ke Brothers girlfriend: Sharp She opens the door and gets out and leaves while Xola goes to Zolekas boyfriends house in Montana to rest there ................................................ (Meanwhile in hospital) Buhle is with the doctor and she tells him if he insists on being discharged then its cool. They prepare his paperwork and hes told hell be released at 7pm Buhle: Will I really need crutches? Doctor: You dont need them to walk, you need them for balance just in case you feel lightheaded Buhle: Hay Ill just take my chances. Ill buy whatever you recommend for me to eat, I wont use crutches. Sorry madam Doctor: Just foods with iron and foods high in protein like spinach, eggs, mushrooms, chicken, fish, red meat, peanuts, avocados, and yes you can eat other foods, as long as you make sure you get these ones in high consumption Buhle: Okay, so if I eat those foods there wont be anything funny happening to me? Doctor: No not at all, after a month you wont be forced to eat them because youll have recovered well. I wont give you any pills because you dont need them Buhle: Even if I did need them, I wouldnt take them. I dont do pills Doctor: Thats why Im suggesting foods that will give you the same effect you wouldve gotten from the pills Buhle: Anyway call my girlfriend, tell her to pick me up at 7pm Doctor: Say please Buhle: Please Doctor: Good Buhle: Mxm The doctor leaves the room to call Melody to inform her that Buhles gonna be discharged tonight ................................................
