INTERFAITH SEARCH FIJI - COORDINATOR POSITION This is a part-time position. The Coordinator is expected to work 15 hours per week, flexible time, including few attendances at evening: “10th of Month Gatherings” and monthly Council meetings and the occasional workshops that may take place on a Saturday. The position is in Interfaith Office, 57 Knollys Street, Suva, Fiji. The remuneration is $120.00 per week and Interfaith Search pays the statutory FNPF. TERMS OF REFERENCE 1. Administration of the Interfaith Search Fiji Office and Resource Centre, including Petty Cash, payment of accounts, mailing, correspondence, filing, maintain the Interfaith Search Fiji website, etc. 2. Coordination of monthly Council Meetings, monthly “10th of Month” Gatherings and Discussion Gatherings, including collation and photocopying of Papers for presentation. 3. Coordination of and facilitation of Community workshops. 4. Preparation of a Monthly Report of Activities carried out to Council Meetings. 5. Maintaining contact with all member organizations. 6. Establishing and maintaining contact with new groups and organizations not currently members of Interfaith Search Fiji. 7. Seeking creative ways to fulfill the aim of Interfaith Search Fiji in building respect and understanding between people of different religious traditions for the sake of the wider community and to extend outreach to the general public and further; to educate the wider Fiji public on interfaith relations. 8. Keeping up to date with current writings on inter religious issues and events in Fiji and around the world. 9. Undertaking any work as requested by Council from time to time. THE PERSON 1. The person should have MQR of at least a Form 7 pass with good command of English both in written and oral and very good working knowledge of computers and similar office equipment and manage the office. 2. The person must also have contemporary accounting knowledge and practice and correctly interpret accounts. Higher qualifications would be of particular advantage. 3. A high degree of trust and faithfulness is expected from the person to hold keys to the office and its assets and to become an independent worker. 4. The person must be versatile and adaptive to all communities, creative, patient, good listener, community-friendly and to quickly bond to group studies and discussions as part of the interfaith interactions with different communities and cultures. 5. The person will manage the Interfaith Search Fiji office but must work under the management of the Council of Interfaith Search Fiji insofar as participation in external activities and communities under the banner of the Interfaith Search Fiji. 6. Throughout the year, the person is expected to participate in the Council’s nominated youth groups and discussions, which may be held outside Suva and sometimes may involve camping overnight at outreach locations, such as villages or schools. =========================
