IS ALL CONTENTION OF THE DEVIL? I often get quoted a book of Mormon verse, in an attempt to get me to be quiet. Contention is of the devil. FIRST of all, I think this is a ploy, whether you realize it or not, to distract you from my message. If you just focus on the fact that someone is contending for something, you can call that of the devil and excuse yourself from the knowledge being shared that you probably need to know. SECOND, I pay zero heed to the BOM since its a proven fraud, so if you want my attention, please at least start with a Bible verse. THIRD, Im pretty sure the Bible mentions contention somewhere in a negative way, (though not quite like the BOM) and I would agree that contention CAN be bad. If youre just looking for a fight, thats not good. However, you simply cannot lump all arguments, discussions, contention, into the SATAN basket. Thats ridiculous. Its logically insane. If you werent only using the BOM, and cherry picking at that, youd know that the Bible says to contend for the faith! (Jude 1) Youd know that Jesus came to earth and brought division and turned families against each other! Luke 12 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Then theres this Ezekiel 33:8 New King James Version (NKJV) 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. The apostles were tortured, imprisoned, and killed! Why? Because they just went about their business not bothering anyone? I dont think so. Humble yourself, and think about all that I say. Care about truth, not being right. Big difference. Is there any logic to anything I say? think about it. You might be wrong.
