IS IT ALL WORTH IT? PSALM 74:25-26: Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” OBSERVATION: This Psalm of Asaph speaks to all of our hearts from time to time. We try to follow The Lord, we try to do what is right, we are faced with spiritual battles within and without, our current culture is against us and our message, and - it appears that those who do not seek The Lord are living in comfort, wealth, and ease. Asaph cries out - Is it all worth it? However, all of this changes when he does one thing. All of this changes when he goes into the House of The Lord. For it is in the Presence of The Lord, it is as we look into His Word, that we see the truth and reality of life. When all the facades are stripped away, when the smokescreen of this life is blown away, we see the true end of those who do not seek The Lord. More importantly, and much more impactful to our lives - we see the reality of those who DO SEEK THE LORD! God is their strength and their portion FOREVER! Paul reminded us that our present struggle cannot be in any way compared to our FUTURE GLORY! So, when I am tempted to look at the ungodly and wonder - Is it all worth it? - let me run to Your Presence, let me run to Your Word. In Your Word I will find truth and freedom, and in Your Presence I will find peace and fulness of joy! In Jesus Name!
