ISLAM AND TOLERANCE. Islam is a religion that takes care of daily life. This may mean, in a positive sense that religion deals with the integrity of man and make sure that he is faithful to the principles of his faith and values Muslims morals. On the contrary, fundamentalists want to impose this way of life by force, rejecting the contemporary world, interpreting the message of Muhammad in a reductive and simplistic manner. They would like to return to the origins of Islam as if the world had not changed over the centuries. The word tolerance means being able to respect, accept and even endure patiently others. Therefore, the exact opposite of tolerance is racism. We have to ask ourselves," to what extent is Islam a tolerant religion". It seems that every religion seeks to convince people of its truth. However, in Islam, as in other monotheistic religions , there are fanatic, indisputable custodians of the truth, who does not admit of making mistakes. They are often ignorant, unable to respect the ideas of others and they have been taught only to hate and can be easily used by anyone including the west governments. For this the first enemy to fight is ignorance but continuing to respect the message of Muhammad and believing in his core values but understanding that the world evolves and changes everyday.
