ISLAM IS RELIGION OF PEACE HAS NO ROOM FOR TERRORISM : ABDUL QADIR BALOCH Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch said Islam for centuries has been religion of peace, tolerance and has no room for terrorism, fanaticism and extremism. Islam and Muslims have nothing with current spell of terrorism and intolerance in the world. World is not ready to accept Pakistan nuclear program. These views were expressed, while addressing on two day national conference titled ”Islam and West; Mutual Understandings, Needs and Demands“ organized by Iqbal International Institute of Research and Dialogue (IIIRD) International Islamic University Islamabad with the cooperation of Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan. On the occasion, President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Muolana Muhammad Khan Sherani, Executive Director IIIRD Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed including deans, directors, chairpersons of different departments and large number of students from university and madaaras from twin cities were present. The conference had different discussion sessions in which number of renowned Scholars, Ulemas from across the country presented their research papers covered different aspects of Islam and West. Federal Minister said Islamic teachings are very clear, which has no room for terrorism, extremism in any form and with planned conspiracy, extremism and prejudiced sort of attitude being associated with Islam. He said, historian are witnessed that Muslims ruled over West and Europe for centuries and left unprecedented legacy of prosperity and peace.” A strong propaganda against Islam and Muslims has initiated to divide and make them weak“Abdul Qadir said while stressing on Ulemas’ role for unity and harmony among all the sects. Federal Minister said Ulema should set sectarian differences aside and show full religious harmony to counter western propaganda against Islam. Muolana Muhamad Khan Sherani said peace is dependent on dialogue and mutual understanding than fight. He further was the view that a comprehensive dialogue between Islam and West is need of the hour to seek inclusive system for humanity, proposing that Islam is the only religion which has capacity to address all the matters of life. He also set some basic points for debate, dialogue and research between Islam and West. Dr. Al-Draiweesh while thanking all the guests and audience said Islam is only religion which offers universal values that can be adopted by every religion without any amendment. He said Islamic University offers conducive and peaceful environment of study to students, discourage the attitude of violence and extremism. Dr. Al-Draiweesh further said, Islam has nothing with terrorism, extremism and such negative concept which against the humanity. In his welcome note, Dr. Mumtaz paid great tribute to all the guests and participants and congratulated to organizers on success of the conference while vowing to organize such more events in this nature.
