ISO - families with horses who would be interested in hosting a french exchange student for 3-4 weeks this summer. I host a french student, or two, every summer. It has been a rewarding experience for our family and we have made some long-term, international friends. The Utah Stay has become a popular destination, so much so that I am looking for additional host families as I cannot manage all the requests. The students range in age from 15 - 18. You do not need to have children at home the same age as the student but it does help to have young people they can be introduced to. The one requirement is, these students are looking for an equistrian experience. They all have some prior riding experience and come here to experience the West. You do not need to extensively entertain them, just make them a part of your family activities for the 3-4 weeks of their visit. Our family usually schedules a camping trip during the students stay, I take them riding to Antelope Island and/or Logan Canyon and we do the usual tours of Salt Lake, Temple Square, go to a rodeo, etc. Some students are interested in more of a working stay and would like to stay at a farm or working stable and work during their stay. This includes a stipend of $175 a week to defray some costs. Please contact me if you might be interested. I will interview and screen families if I do not know you personally. I have been hosting students for 6 years now and I have had some wonderful experiences, (and the occasional spoiled kid but we managed. ) I could probably use an additional 4 families this summer.
