IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU OR ME; IT’S ABOUT US Salvation is an individual experience; no one can get saved for anyone else. At the end of our walk on Earth there will be a Judgment; every man will face a judgment and it too is an individual experience in the sense we will give account for ourselves. While living this Christian life, the highest life a person can live on Earth, there are many wonderful truths from God’s Word addressed to us individually. There are over 7000 promises one can lay hold of individually by faith and be blessed beyond measure. Every Christian as an individual is important to God and His plan on the Earth. All Biblical truth is not all about the individual. When we are saved we become members of a Body (1 Cor. 12:12-27), stones in a Temple (Eph 2:19-22), citizens of a Kingdom (Phil. 3:20), brothers and sisters in a family Household (1 Tim. 3:15; Gal. 6:10), sheep in a flock (1 Peter 5:1-4), soldiers in an army (2 Tim. 2:3, 4), and priests in a Priesthood (1 Peter 2:5, 9). As individuals in all of these examples we are a part of something bigger than us. God’s plan goes beyond us as individuals for these truths declare God’s intentions were not just about us. This is hard for some, especially Americans, to grasp because we love our independence. In some cases, some of the values we bring into Christianity are more American than they are Christian. The total purpose of God is not merely for the individual but is to be realized in Christ and in His Body called the Church. Ephesians 3:8-11 says, “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: The Church is to make known the manifold wisdom of God. God had in mind to put the Church on display in the world before the principalities and powers in heavenly places and unveil His eternal purposes through them. Every Believer must know: a. Who Christ is. b. Who they are in Christ. c. Who they are as His Body the Church.
