IT’S ON! 30-year Reunion set for Aug 22-23 The 30-year Reunion of the Natal Class of ’84, who immortalised themselves in the annals of SA Rugby by becoming the first and only B-Section side in history to reach the Currie Cup Final, has been confirmed for the weekend of August 22 to 23. Provisionally, a Golf Day has been arranged for Friday, August 22, at Mount Edgecombe Country Club Course Two, to be followed by a nostalgic get-together (time and place TBC) that evening. On Saturday, August 23, plans are afoot for the Natal Class of ’84 to attend, as a team, the Absa Currie Cup encounter between the Cell C Sharks and Toyota Free State Cheetahs at Growthpoint KINGS PARK at 7.10pm. This is nostalgically appropriate since the Natal Class of ’84 booked their berth in the 1984 Currie Cup Final, against Western Province at Newlands, by stunning Free State with a sensational 26-15 victory in the epic 1984 semi-final at Kings Park… Against All Odds!
