Ice Bucket Challenge. So one of my bests, Georgia Jane Lancry, called me out to do the ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, aka ALS, aka Lou Gehrigs Disease. Its a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. As motor neurons die, the brain lose the ability to control voluntary muscle movement, leading to paralyzation and eventually death. There is no cure or reverse process for ALS yet, but there is a prescribed drug that slows down the process. The ALS Association and the John Paul II Medical Research Institute are awesome organizations to donate to. So in conclusion.. I challenge my parents, Joseph and Lisa, and two of my other bests, Erica Knight and Anthony Rodriguez. Research and help raise awareness. Hopefully this video works...
