Iced Coffee Still Stains You may avoid coffee because you do not want to stain your teeth. This is a good dental habit to maintain, but if you are one of those people who must have a cup of coffee, remember not all coffee stains your teeth the same. For instance, you can enjoy a cup of ice coffee during these upcoming summer months, and you will consume up to 70 percent less acids than you would if you drank a cup of regular coffee. Regular coffee contains more polyphenols than ice coffee. Polyphenols are antioxidants found in coffee beans that stain your teeth. Remember that ice coffee can still stain your teeth. You should rinse your mouth out – or brush your teeth – after you have had a cup of ice coffee. Avoid adding sugar to your ice coffee, or drinking various flavors of coffee that contain sugar. This could lead to tooth decay.
