Id like to give you an update on Loris progress. For those of you - TopicsExpress

Id like to give you an update on Loris progress. For those of you relatively new to our group, Lori Dagan was diagnosed with breast cancer about two years ago which resulted in her having two separate mastectomy operations plus further (one radical) surgeries resulting from problems linked to the chemotherapy and other procedures. Just before Christmas following a series of nerve blocks and another surgery which failed to resolve the severe pain in Loris leg which turned out to be caused by ruptured and collapsed discs, Lori underwent even more surgery to have her spine fused. This dear lady who spent so many years as a surgeon helping others, is now totally exhausted following the run of horrendous health issues and is trying to build up her strength to get back to egging and start to resume the massively creative life which she was living prior to the last two years. Some of you have been keeping in contact with me to check on Loris progress.. I can now tell you that the severe pain in her right leg has now gone, however something occurred during the surgery which may have stretched the nerve to the left leg which has no feeling in it right now. The surgeon has said it should return in 9-12 months but there are no guarantees. The pain levels may have gone right down, but Lori is absolutely worn out by everything that has taken place.. but she is a fighter as those of us who know her well are fully aware of. We have a charity called Egg Artists for Lori through which we are raising funds to help Lori with her medical expenses (she is self-financing and these are now into thousands of dollars) by selling patterns donated by some very generous egg artists. You can see details of these patterns in the files section at the top (three separate pages). Patterns are being sold around the world and all the monies raised go to Loris fund (no printing costs are taken out). We are also willing to accept donations if you feel that you are able to help in this way.. Please contact me for pattern sales outside of the US or Susan Crichton for all US sales. In the meantime, if you are unable to help financially, please keep Lori in your prayers. She is one of the most caring and honest people that I know and to see at first hand what life has thrown at her over the last few years is heartbreaking. I am hoping that she will be fit enough to come to the Sacramento Show in March (even if I have to drive for seven hours to get her there .. please warn everyone to stay off the streets as I dont drive on the wrong side of the road in the UK!) Thanks everyone..
