“If a believer demands that I, as a nonbeliever, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect, but for my submission.” Flemming Rose. Flemming Rose, cultural editor at the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten; was principally responsible for publishing the cartoons, which were exploited by Islamist clerics to manufacture outrage & offense. The cartoons had already been published in the Arab press, months earlier, with no reaction. Danish clerics then toured the Middle East showing the very cartoons whose publication by European newspapers they claimed was blasphemous (except when the clerics showed them, who didnt have to follow their own rules) along with a cartoon of Muhammed as a pig which they themselves had fabricated & lied claiming that it too had been published in the Jyllands-Posten. (Wouldnt they go to Hell for this?). Protests, riots & murder followed along with a boycott of Denmark for allowing newspapers the freedom to publish some of the pictures which the Islamist clerics themselves had been showing. The reaction of Western governments, the political establishment & even some on the politically correct left was to apologise. https://youtube/watch?v=CcaHGkRBWk8
