If anyone has seen, The Hours...perhaps, indeed, one might question as to what at its most silent, darkest, benthic depths...what such a simple phrase, the hours, might truly encompass... Though it might sound like a verbal belch of convoluted, empty air....as Ive lived longer and longer...there are phrases, films, scenes...moments that are terrifying in their blatant vulnerability....so for myself.. As to how to determine that which is happy, sad, amusing, passing, necessary, in vain, dubious, edifying, or indeed, pre-destined even... ...my sense, my fear of the voidas being real... That is to say, that those hours, those moments, the time, those distracting events...BETWEEN the moments weve planned, expected - moments,events that we feel or would seem fulfilling...as being REAL....and NOT those hours, moments, time, events planned that seem or are pacifying...or possibly fulfilling...that with our naive sense ,hope, or suspicion as being real...upon their arrival... ...those, indeed, those moments of success, of pleasure, grandeur, are indeed, NOT real...but strokes of empathy and compassion ...between the endless pondering, suspense, fingers crossed...along a path that has no bias...but of ones own making...of ones own mind... That quagmire is my loudest daily resonance...and I hope that I never arrive at a completely definitive answer... ...for I doubt that the arrival of such knowledge, of what actually IS reality, would be any more empowering than the recognition of the reality of the duality of truth of those hours, those moments OF... and those BETWEEN .... those hours, those moments that we plan or focus upon as real...as being real. TIME...is probably, the most real, or tangible of all intangibles...for before...and after...it gives us the one measurement we can somehow feel..ing...arriving...and then going. For as one passes, uses, wastes,spends,perhaps even transcends time with ones thoughts , words and actions...only then, can one observe or feel the effects, side effects or lack thereof... of ones choices, decisions, or again, lack thereof...and thus, only after the moment passes, as the evidence of its depth of truth...does reality...seem real.
