The Way (Heartening movie written by Emilio Estevez, starring his father Martin Sheen about a father mourning his son’s death by hiking the mountains he hiked) 3. Platoon (Classic ‘Nam movie starring every future star actor from Charlie Sheen to Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker in their early twenties) 4. Life Is Beautiful (Italian movie with subtitles about a creative father who makes his little son believe that Auschwitz is really a fun game they’re apart of) 5. Bernie (Real Life story starring Jack Black about a small town’s most popular man becoming a killer) 6. The Imposter (Fantastic documentary on a true international criminal case involving the disappearance of a 12 year old American boy and the 23 year old Spanish man who pretended to be him years later) 7. American: The Bill Hicks Story (Funky documentary on most famous American comedian, Bill Hicks and his rise to fame) 8. Super 8 (Sci Fi thriller directed by JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg about a small town who goes through some unusual events) 9. Traffic (Great Mexican Cartel movie starring Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones that shows the effects of the Mexican Drug Cartel on many different people through their eyes) 10. Safety Not Guaranteed (Indy movie about a news reporter who calls a man who posts an advertisement in the local paper, seeking a partner to travel back in time with, starring Mark Dupplas from The League) 11. Exit Through The Gift Shop (A thrilling documentary following the few world famous street artists who have invented a new medium for art, starring Banksy and Shepphard Fairy) 12. Big Fish (80’s movie about a man who is at his father’s side on his death bed, begging him before he dies to tell him his life story, without any fabrication) 13. Jeff, Who Lives at Home (Interesting Drama starring Ed Helms and Jason Segal about two brothers who lead very different lives that somehow inevitably coil together) 14. Lars, and The Real Girl (Tale of a quiet man, Ryan Gosling, who is extremely socially awkward and cannot even stand the touch of another person. To finally fit in, he finds a girlfriend, but not the regular kind) 15. Into the Wild (One of my favorite movies. Real life story starring Emile Hersch, about a young man in the early 90’s who decided to throw his money and car away and move into the most rural part of the Alaskan Wilderness) 16. The Truman Show (The odd tale of a man who soon discovers his world isn’t what it seems, starring the odd, Jim Carrey) 17. One Week (Story of a man who after recently becoming engaged, finds out he has a week to live, buys a motorcycle, and just rides) 18. Louie (TV Show) (Hillarious show, similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm that follows the fat, ginger, single father of two, comedian, Louis CK throughout his everyday life in NYC) 19. Orange is the New Black (TV Show) (From the creator of Weeds, brings you the 1st season of a true story, following a beautiful white suburban women who goes to jail for 3 years because of her past) 20. Trailer Park Boys (TV show and couple movies) (This ridiculous, mockumentary TV show following two Canadian men who come from an interesting Trailer Park is sure to make you die from laughter)
