If anyone on west coast of FL...Tonight at 5:30 in Bradenton... Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking public input on the topic of potential legislation authorizing local governments limited authority to regulate the anchoring of vessels on state waters within their jurisdiction. Main point effecting us: A vessel may not be anchored overnight within 300 feet of waterfront residential property. Should anyone be concerned...I just hate these confines! I do agree with the derelict/sinking boat one! Just dont think this proposal right as long as one is out of channel. What would be a good timeframe to anchor while traveling ICW as plan b? No more than 8 days vs overnight? I am thinking of weather windows...and cruisers should not have to pull up each county and varying rules to anchor! Especially during foul weather...or exhaustion!
