If not because of you I am not in my position right now. You’re one of the two great guys that influenced my life so much. If not because of that Red Hat Linux running in pentium 1 and Linux book that you lent to me last 2006, I don’t know how to write shell scripts. If not because of the programming books that you lent me also on same year, I don’t know how to write codes. If not because of your encouragements, I will not care too much for my career in my current field which I truly loved. You help a lot of people in many ways. Some people cant understand your way of living and thinking, only few knows that and I feel lucky that I am one of those. I remember when I’m still a little boy way back 1995 (if i remember correctly) upto the last day that were together last August 30, 2014 before leaving PH, you always greeted me with a simple Arab word As-salamu alaykum which I didn’t bother to know the meaning of it until I worked in Arab country. Everytime I hear this word, I keep remembering you. I am proud that I am one of your Tambays in our small bodega with full of knowledge and lessons. Thank you for every knowledge, efforts and to the small things that you share and did to me to make my life and career in a good path. I am honored that I grew up with your guidance since I’m a little boy up to become a professional programmer. I still remember few words of encouragements from the last day that we spoke over the phone when I’m in airport waiting for my flight last September 4, 2014, you told me that “Basta’t ingat ka na lang dun balitaan mo na lang ako kung kelan ang kasal and keep learning”. I’m gonna miss you my friend, grandfather, drinking buddy, professor and my best mentor. I salute you! You may rest in peace Dr. Rolando J. Andico. You will now meet the real San Miguel in heaven.
