If you are interested in seeing Yuba-Sutter (non-commuter) stops in PL, here is your chance to get involved in the process and provide input.... What: Community Transit Planning Workshop When: 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Friday, March 28, 2014 Where: Yuba County Government Center Board of Supervisors Chambers 915 Eighth Street, Marysville CA You are cordially invited to participate in a special public workshop to kick off the 2015 update of the Yuba-Sutter Short Range Transit Plan. This event will bring together a wide range of community organizations and individuals to help us identify priority public transit improvements that they would like to see implemented over the next five to ten years. We are seeking your unique and specific perspective and input before this important planning process begins. Last updated in 2008, the Yuba-Sutter Short Range Transit Plan is the blueprint for the development and operation of local public transit service in Yuba and Sutter Counties. The listing of an alternative in the plan does not guarantee implementation nor does its rejection prevent future implementation, but all projects for which Federal funding is to be used must be in an approved plan. Past updates in 1994, 1998, 2003 and 2008 were instrumental in Yuba-Sutter Transit’s development over the last twenty years and the 2015 plan is expected to build on that positive momentum. The workshop will begin with an overview of local transit history, especially the last five to ten years, for some perspective on how much can change in such a short period. Specific service challenges or limitations will then be identified and discussed including how local conditions such as geographical barriers, historic development patterns, fiscal realities and community priorities affect system design and performance potential. The focus will then turn to the identification of current and expected future transit issues that those in attendance would like to see addressed. We especially want your input on what our priorities should be in the years to come. We hope that you can join us on March 28th, but if you are unable to do so and still want to be informed during the plan update, please send your name, organization (if any) and e-mail address to Matt Mauk at (530) 634-6880 (matt@yubasuttertransit) with a request to be added to our “SRTP” e-mail list. Please contact Matt Mauk at (530) 634-6880 (matt@yubasuttertransit) if you have any questions or need more information regarding the workshop.
