If you are looking for a very effective way to build strength through the glutes, pelvic floor and deep core muscles I highly recommend a Pilates clams routine just like this one. Doing this simple routine three times a week will certainly help to strengthen the glutes and core, supporting your pelvic floor which is an absolute MUST for mummies of all fitness levels....And just because youre lying down, doesnt mean you wont get a brilliant workout...this is an absolute butt burner! The video demo contains instructional cues, so its just like you are in one of my classes...but here is a quick overview of what I want you to do: Start on your right side, knees bent so that your heels are in line with your hips. Draw your navel IN. Complete - 10 x Clams v1 10 x Clams v2 10 x Leg Lowers (top leg in line with your body) 10 x Leg Lowers (top leg extended in front of body) 10 x Leg Circles (5 reps in each direction). Make sure you BREATHE (through the pain ) If you cant complete all the reps, then just start smaller and build your way up...after a few good goes at this little routine, you will be smashing it out in no time!
