If you got a chance to read my msn interview about photo editing.. it got me thinking about editing wedding photos. Over the years as a photographer, you find a style you love for editing your work your unique way. I do not air brush and I do not photo shop. I use subtle ways of softening skin as air brushing is too fake for my liking. I will remove spots, cold sores, bruises and cuts, but with moles I will often ask whether the client would like me to remove them or not. If the subjects teeth are yellow I will whiten them and if they are sunburned or flushed I will remove the redness. The camera adds a few kilos in stills and film, so I have designed ways of balancing that out in edit. I always shoot to make people look as thin as possible using composition and angles with different lenses and lights. I think the two things people hate about photos of themselves is 1. Looking fat and 2. Looking old or wrinkly. Its just human nature I think. I will remove pieces of rubbish, some light switches and power points and unattractive items that draw attention away from the subject. I like to make people look like theyve just had a great holiday, looking fresh faced and better than ever. Some people want that very fake, very Hollywood airbrushed look and thats their choice but thats not photography...that becomes artwork. Me.... Im a photographer. :) Sue
