If you have been out and about in the hills you may have seen some - TopicsExpress

If you have been out and about in the hills you may have seen some of the hill sheep being gathered during the last few days. These pictures are courtesy of Anna Kerruish and were taken during her Barrule gather. The lambs which are off to market are brought down from the hills where they have been on a diet of heather and wild grasses and will be fattened on lush lowland pastures. Each lamb is marked with lamb-friendly paint spray to help with the management of the flock. Click on each picture for a further explanation. Manx lamb reared in our temperate climate, in beautiful countryside with the influence of the sea breezes (and gales!) does have a special and delicious taste - several butchers are running promotions on new season lamb at the moment
