If you havent dragged your Christmas tree home yet, better get a move on. I remember one Christmas about 20 years ago. My sons and I had searched for hours for the perfect tree and finally found it. Got it home and unloaded. It stood about 9 tall, was a beautiful, full fir, just lovely! I still had a little shopping to do, so my husband made plans to get it set up in the tree stand. When I returned home a couple of hours later, the first thing I noticed was the abundance of fir boughs in the driveway. I immediately went to the living room to see how it looked in the corner of our living room. It wasnt there! I asked my husband where the tree was. He said, in the living room. I looked again, remember this is a 9 tree. No tree! I call him again, he comes into the living room. He said there it is and pointed to a coffee table on the other side of the room. There sat a 3-4 tree. I said, I saw that, but where is our big Christmas tree?? He smiled a sheepish smile and said, thats it. I had to get it evened up before I put it in the stand...and this man doesnt drink either. To make the best of the situation, we used the discarded boughs on our mantle, on top of the hutch and throughout the house with our decorations. We didnt have any trouble getting all the presents under the tree that year, lol. But, the old boy was still in trouble with me. His tree trimming is now limited to helping with the decorations. You gotta smile through the craziness life brings your way. That was a small thing, enjoying the Christmas season with your family and friends, thats the most important stuff. Merry Christmas!
