If you love music and if you happen to be studying Chinese or Asian studies, you should add Zhangchus album 《上苍保佑吃完了饭的人民》in your collection. It was released 10 years ago. China has changed a lot but every time I listen to this album, I feel like each song is an updated reflection on Chinese society. 10 years ago, Zhangchu already addressed quintessential issues that exist today in China. He observes the society so sharply that gives such a great description of people from different class in China and I havent even mentioned the other literary value,the perfect choice of music style and the beautiful melody...I dont know if other people will think I overrate this album but I think it deserves the credit.This is my favorite Chinese album of all time.
