If you post something heartfelt people think youre caring. If you - TopicsExpress

If you post something heartfelt people think youre caring. If you post something biblical people think youre theological. If post something inspirational people think youre an encourager. If you post something wise people think youre a philosopher. If you post something analytical people think youre contemplative. We live in such a fast paced world where pictures display personality and the core of your ideals can be summed up in a 200 character rant. All the while we try to display an emotion opposite of what we feel. So we post. We post a smile when all we feel is sadness. We post confidence and courage when all we feel is unsure and scared. We post action when all we are is talk. We post adventure when all we really want is normal. We post to grab the attention of others, because we boast in likes and friends, but all we ever feel is alone. We post stability, but the sad reality is our life is a mess. All we want is support, a pat on the back or someone to understand, so we lie. We dont want people to know we are truly upset. We dont want people to know that every now and again we question our beliefs and decisions. We dont want people to think we are...well, a person. We hide our humanity behind filters and hashtags. What have we done? Well, we have found a loop hole to gaining what we consider popularity by hiding who we are, and by trying to make even the most dull moments seem exciting. Fact is, your life isnt always going to be 100% awesome and the more you pretend it is then the more disappointed with yourself you will become. Everyday we lie, we want people to notice us while claiming we dont care what people think. We want acceptance and to be the celebration of society. We want recognition, so we post. We post lies. We display a fantasy of who we think we should be, while diving deeper into not ever knowing who we truly are. My question is how will you find yourself, and how can you truly be passionate about something if all your concerned about is the acceptance of your peers?
