If you read below this is what happened yesterday at Med Express in Fairmont - never will I go in there again..... I am a 48 year old female with a history of a pleuritic left lung. My doctors office is moving and therefore is closed until 7/15/14. I went into med express in Fairmont WV yesterday and saw the PA - I dont remember her name. After listening to my lungs - she says you dont have pleurisy - you have a condition where a rib meets the sternum and the cartilage gets inflamed. Ohhhh....hmmm....ok I say what can we do to make it stop hurting - I was already on Prednisone, Motrin 800 and Keflex for a dental issue - so I wasnt quite sure what we could do. The PA proceeds to go and write me prescriptions for zyrtec, flonase and a few other decongestants. I then asked her dont you have an xray machine so that we can make sure nothing else is wrong - both of my parents died from lung cancer. Now I am a medical language specialist and also executive director for Marion County Special Olympics - so Im a little medical savvy..... She then told me that yes they do xrays; but these scripts would take care of everything. I noted to her that I have no congestion, no cough, no runny nose, etc.... - Well thats what they entered in the computer she says. Needless to say, I walked out and told her to keep her prescriptions. I feel that my insurance should not be changed and I should be refunded the 25.00 co-pay I paid. This is a very scary situation - I wonder how many other people she just writes rxs for and doesnt listen to what the patient is even saying. I would appreciate any help in this matter. And thats my complaint to corporate..... please be careful....... besides the fact that they ask what you weigh and how tall you are - isnt that how they write scripts?????
