If you think Ebola no concern you, please read this short message Victor Aguku It is not intended to alarm Nigerians but the Ebola scourge is more serious and wide spread than the government and foreign organisations are letting out at the moment A simple geometric multiplication may give you an insight as to what is happening and the seriousness with which the government of Nigeria and the WHO/UNO is handling this matter will convince you If one Nigerian is infested the probability is 99% that such Nigerian will only seek professional medical help after the gestation period at which time such person has become really unwell. Now go further in the analysis. One Nigerian of the upper class with personal car and fenced house will have contact within and outside his/her house with at least 10 or more people including the driver, gateman, immediate family members and work colleagues Ok, lets go to the not so privileged. He/she lives in an open multi room or flats compound, takes the cab or bus, mixes up freely at the market and then with the work colleagues. How many people on the average will such person make contact with in a day. Now multiply these geometrically for every successful transmission, add the gestation period to the manifested time of the carrier and then you will have a clue as to how wide this scourge may have spread and why it may take sometime to notice this wide spread in the country Now, what do we do. Do we sit down and pretend that it does not concern us or go to Church to pray that it is not our portion as if we are any better than the victims. These are not the way to go Please sign the petition to prevail on those with the possible cure to come forward with the vaccines or whatever cure they have. This is an epidemic and it is only a matter of time before it goes round if not curtailed sooner than later.
