“If you were to ask the average Christian to summarize the message of Christianity you would most likely hear something along the lines of `God loves me and sent His Son, Jesus, to die for me.’ As wonderful as this sentiment sounds, is it biblical? Isn`t it incomplete? God loves ME! Christianity`s object is ME?(Wouldn’t that be called “Meianity”?cj) The message of biblical Christianity is not `God loves me, period,’ as if “me” were the object of our own faith. The message of biblical Christianity is “God loves me so that I might make Him-His ways, His salvation, His glory, and His greatness-known among all nations.” Now God is the object of our faith, and Christianity centers around Him. We are not the end of the gospel; God is.” ~David Platt~ Hope this helps the “don`t judge ME” crowd. God`s Word judges and needs NO help, it requires no debate, only declaration. (I find it interesting that most don’t mind being judged when ppl judge them innocent in contradiction to God`s word). Jesus even said that He didn’t come to judge; but he did rebuke according to the Word of God for the purpose of His Father and the sake of the rebuked. You are not the object! We are on a journey together to make Christ known and to think that we are not to rebuke, exhort, encourage, help, etc each other according to scripture is indication that you are on the wrong journey. You are on a mission to satisfy self not make Christ known and you have missed the gospel completely. (Psalm141:5) “Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it.”
