If your one of those people who love to give and maybe go a little over board when you may not have the cash on hand to cover that spending habit... I want to tel you anyone you are buying for would rather you had not gone into debt for them but were more stable in your Finacial situation and feel guilty you bought them something. Use this time to be creative and thoughtful vs spending what you dont have. I know its hard for those who love to give above and beyond allowing the gift to represent you care but we must interrupt the pattern of spending to start out new this year coming up. Your loved ones will be delighted in your desire for security for your family... Time is a commodity you can always give as well.
