Each child’s monthly expenses add up to $100. Thank you for your kind interest and concern for the safety and well-being of our children at SCF in Arusha,Tanzania. Funding Examples: $130 to provide full sponsorship for one child per month, $60 to provide for one month English-medium education; $40 to provide food for one month; $15 to buy one pair of shoes or school uniform SCF is registered with the government of Tanzania as a not-for-profit non-governmental organization and with several governmental departments in Arusha as an orphanage. As required by law, the home has a regulatory Board of Directors. The orphanage is solely funded by voluntary contributions in two ways: 1. Contributions - The first way is to make a contribution to a “General Fund”. Contributions can be made at any time and in any amount without any further commitment. This money will be used to fund overall expenses for the orphanage. It will also supplement sponsorship so that we may increase, when financially able, the quality of education, food, or to provide additional or seasonal clothing, or to fund unexpected medical and dental expenses. Contributors will regularly receive photos of the children and periodic news via e-mail. 2. Sponsorship - This involves a monthly commitment of funding one particular child on a long term basis. Your commitment will help cover the child’s expenses of accommodations, education, school transportation, school uniforms, books, food, clothing, health care, toys, toiletry and sundry items, etc. There is no minimum period for sponsorship, but we ask that you consider your sponsorship a serious commitment.
