@ Ike, I was reading your story about Lahore Fort dinner hosted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in honor of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, did you go to Wagah too? Yes, I did with Muhammad Mian Soomro, he was NBP President , here is in the picture, it is a walk down the memory lane: 18th Feb, 1999. Pakistan had made very elaborate arrangements to welcome Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee at the Wagah border 18th Feb, 1999. He arrived there by the inaugural Delhi-Lahore bus. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif received Vajpayee at Wagah. “Khush aamdeed” to Pakistan,” were the first words PM spoke before he embraced Vajpayee. I was invited by Mushahid Hussien, here with my friend Sardar Muhammad Mian Soomro (President of Pakistan 18 August 2008 – 9 September 2008 Prime Minister of Pakistan in office 16 November 2007 – 25 March 2008 Chairman of the Senate) on Wagah border waiting for PM Vajpayee Sahib bus. It was a dream of peace quashed by the vested interests led by JI. As we break bread together, a new country and a new millennium knock on our doors. That was how PM Vajpayee sahib began his address at the special banquet thrown in his honour at the historic Lahore Fort in the evening.
