Ill bet you good money that someone in the Administration has - TopicsExpress

Ill bet you good money that someone in the Administration has gently suggested, with increasing firmness, to Ruth Bader Ginsburg that, at 81 and given her poor health, right now would be an awfully good time for her to retire. If she steps down at the end of the Courts term in June, Obama will still be able to get her successor confirmed before the election. If not, the left risks losing her seat to a moderate (if her successor is appointed by Obama or Hillary but has to be confirmed by a Republican Senate) or... to a conservative (if the GOP wins in 2016 and she cant wait til 2021). Either outcome would delight me but... hehe... probably not most of you. Mark my words: If she insists on staying past June, her stubborn pride may be remembered as one of the pivotal factors in the future of American governance for decades to come.
