Ill not be maudlin today, though I just got back from my friend Scotts funeral mass, but I will share a little story. Scotts parents got a brand new Olds Cutlass Supreme back in the 70s (around the time of the oil scare) and in this car was one of the coolest devices in the world. A cassette player! Not an 8 Track, we are talking CASSETTE! Fast forward, rewind, the real deal! (his dad also had a super swanky SONY sound system in the living room, but Im not sure if we even knew how to work it) So, he would take the keys to the car and we would go sit in the Cutlass Supreme (for some reason, that was a big deal) and listen to The Doobie Brothers Greatest Hits and some Kenny Loggins tape (I assume these were all that were available to us at the time) and I grew to love this one song. It is the only song with Stevie Nicks on it that I can actually say I like to listen to. Now, I will sit back, pretend Im in the passenger seat of a parked Cutlass Supreme on Shady Lane and listen to this song.
