It’s by a 21-year-old singer and songwriter from England who goes by the stage name, Charli XCX. So what does the XCX in Charli’s stage name stand for? Well we got the answer straight from Charli, and it’s quite interesting. According to this artist who was born with the name Charlotte Aitchison in 1992, she chose the moniker at just 15 years old, and does not have a clear answer as to what it means. In an interview with Rolling Stone, she explained: “Well, people have speculated that it means “Kiss Charli Kiss,” but I really just chose the name because I thought it looked cool and sounded catchy. Of course, when I was signed to my record label, I suddenly felt like it needed to stand for something. So I told my label that it could mean, “X-Rated Content” or something like that, and everyone there just kind of looked at me as if I was crazy. Well this singer from London may not know exactly what her stage name stand’s for, but if she wanted a catchy stage name, she defiantly has one.
