Im a restless soul. Im a dreamer. I see the future. Others would say Im unstable. I get that. Maybe I am. I change my mind a lot. In my life I have wanted be a: Police officer, professional soccer player, a Teenage Mutant Nina Turtle (when I was 5 :) ), artist, teacher, a firemen, guidance counselor, a pastor, a foreign missionary, camp Staff, small Business owner, run an urban community center, a church planter, an army chaplain, a writer, a Barista/coffeehouse owner If there was a job to dream up ideas and plans for something I could do that. Whats odd is that what Im actually doing is nothing like what I want to be doing. Can you relate? But there has to be reason, besides my chronic dreaming, that I am where I am and who I am... Yesterday, as our church gathered, we heard a message from Ecclesiastes 3. Thats the one that talks about there being a time for everything. God is making everything beautiful, it says, even when we look around at all the crap in this world. All the pain and suffering and evil. Its part of a plan. With the cry of desperation I join David and Bono... How long, must we wait! If Im not careful I start to blame God for all of that mess. WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING ANYTHING GOD! He says, I am I am. Thats a name the Bible uses a lot for God, but it is also a declaration of action. He said I am in the past, I am in the future, and I am right now. The question is not, where is God in all of this? The question is, will you join him on the action plan he has already established, in Jesus, to redeem/fix this broken world? WE ARE HIS PLAN TO SAVE THE WORLD. All those dreams and purposes I chase after are a part of the solution. So are yours. As we live and dream we come to a better understanding of who we are and how we best fit into His plan. And so we act on it. We help. We are generous. We serve. We give. We love. Just as Jesus modeled. Jesus is the perfect solution. He is ultimately the perfect plan. We fail to demonstrate and carry out his plan. But we try and when we fail we keep pointing to him and we carry on. Keep dreaming. Keep loving. Now is the TIME .
