Im actually happy this woman got jail (just 90 days and she gets to serve them on weekends, lucky her) for her irresponsible actions that led to the death of two people. In stopping to try and save ducks on a HIGHWAY, it caused an accident that killed two. Someone on Twitter is sort of judging me for being happy about the sentence, but SERIOUSLY: TWO PEOPLE DIED. As far as Im concerned, if youre driving, youre entering a civic contract to follow the rules, understand risk, and act in a responsible way. When you fail to do that, there needs to be rules. Id be just as happy about the sentence as with someone shaving or applying makeup when driving, texting, or anything else that is a stupid, unnecessary risk committed purely for selfish reasons. ADD TO THAT the judge saying the woman showed no remorse for the outcome, believing she was justified to break the law, and yeah. Jail is good. The more people who start learning actions have consequences, the better it is for society as a whole.
