Im all for the advancement of the scientific knowledge of mankind, but why did they teach a shrimp to run on a treadmill? Is that some new process to grow larger, tastier shrimp? No, it was a study to see if shrimp with bacterial infections could perform as well as healthy shrimp.... Uhmmm.... Yeah. No shit. I dont think they exactly needed a study for that. And I could so teach a shrimp to run on a treadmill for FAR less than 700ish thousand dollars. I think, were live shrimp provided, I could do it for about 30 bucks. “Results show that infected crabs and shrimp do not perform on the treadmill as well as their uninfected counterparts, and that the immune responses that are triggered by bacterial infections are enough, by themselves, to reduce these animals ability to take up oxygen, even when high levels of oxygen are available.” Im not exactly a medical professional, but when someone is sick, isnt it more difficult for their body to do what its supposed to. I know how the scientific method works, but did you really need to spend that much money to prove that sick crustaceans dont perform as well as healthy ones. I would find it terribly hilarious were one of these scientists to pass away and be asked by whatever that exists beyond this life: What did you do with your life. I helped prove that sick crustaceans cant perform as well as healthy ones. ...are you retarded or something?
