Im continuing to try and challenge myself by using unconventional light sources and using settings that I would normally try avoiding (such as cranking up the ISO on my 5D Classic body). Im actually really liking the images that Im creating as a result. My friend Patrick is a queer rap artist based in Portland who goes by Boy Funk. This is our 4th time shooting/collaborating, and this time he wanted images that were greasy, nasty and provocative. One of the reasons I love working with him is because he is always thinking outside the box and is not afraid of pushing boundaries and being unusual, and this is something that really resonates with me. Shooting outdoors wasnt an option, and although I have a speedlite, again I wanted to challenge myself and use something unconventional, so I used two table lamps to light him. I also revisited my editing style from about 3 years ago and mixed it in a little bit with the cleaner style that I use now.
