...Im going to tiptoe out onto the ledge with this, as I could probably end up ranting and its just too early for such theatrics. But, lets talk about the Hogan personality assessment test(s). I, as well as many other people, have an extremely difficult time with these nonsensical constructs. In my world, words matter and therefore, if you ask me the same question six different ways, you could very easily get six different answers [sans explanation]. Then you are given the sliding scale of possible answers: A) Always agree B) Sometimes agree C) Neutral D) Sometimes disagree E) Always disagree Again, words have meaning. After about 260 of these questions, you start thinking, How about we just look each other in the eyes and discuss my background. You called me, remember?! I have very little patience for this type of nonsense. Sure, you can go online and read the psychology behind the tests, but Ive also passed enough of these tests (for the same type o jobs) to undermine their overall validity. Sometimes recruiters (or potential managers) will resend the test to a different email address, if theyre really interested. Its a sham. Can I get an amen? (LIKE)
