Im just going to say one thing and then Im done: People who know me would call me a lot of things, but a thug has never been one of them. Yet, I have been stopped by the police on suspicions (that I never heard) and questioned. Ive been banned from stores. Ive had a shotgun sported while being told I dont belong here. Ive had white power shouted at me more than once. I was called a slave by another child in elementary school. Ive had someone tell me Youre the smartest black person Ive ever met. When I was a victim of a random act of violence, the police officer actually accused ME of being the criminal. Thank goodness I wasnt a black man, then who knows what would have happened. So, if you say police brutality against blacks and racism is solely the result of being a thug then you have never had to walk a day in our shoes. I cant say for certain whether or not this particular case was racially charged, but I can say that if you think it doesnt happen then youre blind. #TimeForAChange #EqualityForAll
