Im not for any party but for good governance. I cant help but ask these questions. Funds and Grants come to Ghana to alleviate poverty. International bodies invest in research into areas of the economy that if we take advantage of, we will be able to raise our living standards. Then they use supporting case studies to justify giving us their tax payers money. Good pipeline, Agro, Healthcare and so on. We assure them that we will reach the target without fail, obviously knowing full well that after all the studies done by non compromising parties it should. Then the grants turns to water poured in the sand. The sound and feel of money gives us sudden personal wealth and power. Right from the disbursement to the last rural person who gets assisted and refuses to pay back or invest wisely. Are we all not to be blamed. If the country received hundreds of million and I receive one million, and I claim corruption so I wont pay my part, am I not equally liable for corruption. So many people in the villages did not have a feel of the 83 hunger because of how they plan their self sufficient Agro. ..and city people suffered. The very people with the pen and paper that endorses policies suffered. We all hope for governments to save us when we are our own destroyers. Not quite long ago the spare parts dealers and the textile sellers demonstrated against the rate of Chines activities and influence on our markets. Another segment protested again this saying that they cant work with bank loans but Chinese goods flexible credits. So they give out our textile designs free of charge to be copied at a cheap rate. Philipino are turning pineapple leave fibres into Organza fabrics for bridal designs They are turning coconut waste fibres to door mats, carpets, shopping bags, baskets etc In Uganda, waste dried leaves are processed to paper Australia, plantain and banana backs are turned to paper with no harm to the plant All these are not done by multinational corporations but in smaller scales, the merchants and collectors do the trade and exports. Self sufficiency If we stop wanting more than we need, we will take off the powers of the governments to loot and share. ... We sit in money and see them as rubbish No one wants to take the risk Maybe and just maybe we should all be deprived of all the things we import and depend on so much and necessity will make us invent Lets all take advantage of the Internet and learn. Whatever is done out there that is necessary, we can do about 80%. Only if we try a little more that complain For all those who just graduated. ...this is why research is crucial in learning. We do case studies on the giant companies and we come out thinking that their systems are too complex yet orderly for us to try. They use too many robots and little manual labour to make cheaper products and dump it on us. This is why we dont appreciate the efforts our local people put into our own made products. Despite all that, there are tonnes of manuals on the FAO sites with years of research into processing of all Agro products that is easy to learn and apply from a remote area of no electricity to the urban small scale business. Sites that even teaches you how to start your own business. Lets please learn beyond school projects. Governments cant save us. With education, full understanding of the system and strict adherence to processing structures we have a big market to feed If we seat to allow these international Agro giants to come in with modified seeds and robots, we will be out of employment, crushed quite serious social adversities. The West has already mapped us out for their Agro need slavery strategies. ......we need to to sit up theguardian/global-development/2014/feb/24/gm-crops-european-scientists-africa-promote-biotech
