Im not in the habit of stealing other peoples thunder, but I feel compelled to share this story. Wednesday morning when Daddy went into surgery, not all of us were at the hospital yet. Being that some of the kids were still asleep, Poochie and Nathan were still at the hotel with them, waiting for them to get up and get dressed. This will all make sense shortly. On Thursday morning, when the tubes had been removed and Daddy could talk to us again, he told Liz and Craig God was in surgery with him. When they told him, Yes, we know, he became insistent. He went on to explain that he had looked down through a glass top at the doctors performing surgery on him. He felt someone was standing behind him as he watched, but he never saw their face. He also looked into another room and saw me, Liz, Cat, and Craig and some of our kids. He wondered where Poochie and Nathan were. He told the person standing behind him, Thats my kids. Theyre worried about me! They need me! Im not ready to leave them yet! He heard the person behind him laughing. The room he saw us sitting in was a small separate space on the other side of the surgery waiting room. Liz, Cat, Craig, and myself were in that room, anxiously waiting for an update. Now, I dont know how many of you reading this believe in this sort of happening, but we have no doubt it was God standing behind him. We dont know whose prayer got through to God, but we do know that God honored his request and all the prayer requests on his behalf and gave him back to us. We are beyond happiness at the progress he has made in the few short days since having the valve replaced. When he thought there was a possibility that he might come home on yesterday, he was up ready to get dressed and hit the highway. At 9:45, he had my aunt call me to tell me get . . .Craig and Poochie on the phone and tell them come on, he was coming home! By 3:30, his discharge papers were being drawn up and Craig was on the road, going at him!!!! We cannot say it enough, but thank you all for your prayers for him. God truly SHOWED UP and showed out!!!!!!!
