Im not sure that I appreciated this the first time I saw it years ago. I probably didnt even realize that it was written by Quentin Tarantino. When I watched it the other night, the film repeatedly beat me over the head with that fact. In addition to the actors below, we get an early-ish Brad Pitt as a stoner, pre-Pulp Fiction Samuel L. Jackson as a dealer, plus a wonderful Gary Oldman pre-Léon performance as another wacko (the pimp who thinks hes black). Lets not forget Christopher Walkens wonderful dialog with Slaters father, played by Hopper. 7.5. RIP Tony Scott.
