Im not trying to be hyperbolic here, but Henry Blount is one of the best people on the planet. I remember when he arrived in Alexandria; our preacher had suddenly died of a heart attack. I was only seven years old. My family could have easily gone to a church led by men who only care about guilt, sin, hell, judgment, and evil. (There are plenty of those in Central Louisiana). But fortunately, I grew up in a church led by a man who celebrated compassion, knowledge, redemption, tolerance, art and literature, and inclusiveness. Im a better person because of this guy, and Im happy theyre giving him this honor.
