Im part of that generation where you left the house early in the morning and didnt come back until it was almost dark. I was an only child, so I had to find things to do to keep busy and keep myself happy. Dodge ball, Red Rover, Kick the can, cowboys and indians (with BB guns by way), Red Ryder BB Guns, slingshots, home made bows and arrows, pieces of branches for guns, broomsticks for horses, Howdy Doody, Western movies, Serial movies with a dramatic ending each week, bicycles with big tires, no gears which we used to jump, crash, race and use on our paper routes. Collecting bottles to get enough money to go to the soda fountain at the drug store to get a cherry sundae or a cherry coke. Building our own version of go carts with push power and using scrap lumber, what nails we could find, rope for steering and baby buggy tires for wheels. All that and we survived. Hopefully the generation that we produced will be as productive, reasonable, smarter, and courteous and with a lot of common sense. You shoulda been there.
