Im really excited to announce that Im launching a creative outlet for Muslim women in the West to rewrite their narratives via Goltune News, a digital news platform devoted to unveiling Muslimah power and beauty through peace journalism. Without going into too much detail, it is a column series that will feature interviews with Muslim women who have something to say! They want to break the stereotypes, assumptions and narratives that have been constructed about them in a unique but meaningful, informative and peaceful way. Why should you be involved? Because every one of us possesses identities, passions and interests that deserve to be acknowledged yet it can often feel like Muslim women are lumped under a few common stereotypes. Words like oppressed, restricted, subdued, conservative are falsely used to paint a rather diverse demographic.
