Im really excited to be joining todays White House Summit on Working Families, hosted jointly by the Center for American Progress, the U.S. Department of Labor, and The White House Council on Women and Girls! This Summit has convened businesses, economists, labor leaders, legislators, advocates, the media, and ordinary citizens for a discussion on issues facing the entire spectrum of working families – from low-wage workers to corporate executives; from young parents to baby boomers caring for their own aging parents. President Barack Obama called for the Summit last year and will Convene us this morning. Theres a lot to talk about and even more to work on but this type of collaboration is exactly how were going to address these issues in the best ways possible! ...and Im hoping to see Sarah McBride, Gautam Raghavan, and a few other friends, if Im lucky.
