Im riding on a Greyhound bus from Baltimore to New York City with several guys who just got out of prison; they assume I am also a hardened criminal cause of my muscles, gold teeth and tattoos so they asked me, no silent judgments on this coach. One of the guys is 27 and did 9 years in prison for drug trafficking. He is so excited to see his Mom and sister and to find a job that he is having trouble breathing. He promised me he is never gonna mess up again so I let him use my cell phone to call his sister. He is almost fainting he is so nervous. I told him I will keep him and his family in my prayers. The best criminals arent in jail they are in elected office or running large financial institutions destroying our country and raping us blind but they are too big to fail or be punished. I flew first class down here and no one talked to each other they just took their iPads out and put ear plugs in and looked stressed out and bored with the burdens of life and avoided any unnecessary dialogue or social interaction. On this bus I am also riding with a black homeless Vietnam Veteran who was drafted against his free will and sent to war, he didnt run to Canada like Bill Clinton he obeyed the law including the ones that forced him to the back of the bus as an adolescent. I think you can take someones freedom and status in society away but as long as you have heart and God you will never be defeated. My life is filled with uncertainty, pain, death, failure as well as incredible accomplishments both personal and professional that gives me immense joy. We must decide what events and experiences we allow to define us. I choose to be happy, because I embrace and learn from my failures for I would not know the satisfaction of success without them. Losers find excuses; winners find a way to succeed. God is the best of planners follow his lead, the road is bumpy and scary but the journey is beautiful and is yours to cherish for eternity. ~Peace and Love~Andrew
