Im sharing Steves reflections on Roy Cicalas Birthday... Anytime and everytime I hear this song I think of Roy. Back in 1978 when I first started at the Record Plant I was fortunate enough to have taken under Roys wings. I did a lot with him and he was a great guy. A little crazy but in a funny way. Except the time I saw him throw a CBS limiter because it had gone to the shop a couple of times and still didnt work! We spent many days in the Mix Room tuning the room. I had no idea what he was doing. All I know is that we must have listened to this song 10 times a day! I had liked the song already but after hearing it so many times at very loud levels on really great speakers I grew to love the song. The arrangement. The strings. All of Roys effects. This was his masterpiece! Happy Birthday Roy! Im sure your laughing down on us right now! We all miss you and I know I am very grateful for all that you have done for me!
