Im sitting at my desk- I finally pulled down the UV roller shades at the front of the house, south western exposure after nearly a year of remaining rolled up. A little less daylight, but much cooler I have a large pot of split peas with two frozen containers- one of pork stock, one of cubed pumpkin, a bunch of sliced onions, celery and greens from the garden all piled in- waiting for the stock and pumpkin to sufficiently thaw and drop out of the upended containers- at which time I will cook it for dinner. On the granite counter top beside me rests the sewing machine, steam iron, small ironing board and piles of pink organza material. I am making sheer casings for my vertical blinds. The white blinds still open, shut and slide back against a wall but now they have acquired a softer look with more filtered light. I finished the first one last night. Im halfway through the other one for my bedroom. Cool breezes waft indoors and get pulled throughout the house by ceiling fans at either end. It is so hot outside- beyond the fence- hedges and trees. I had to go out to get some errands handled. Very happy to be back home entirely sated with street tacos de cabeza, hot salsa, chips and guacamole..A cold beer might be nice. t.
